Having worked on the family farm for a number of years, Eirian decided on a change of career in 2000, and joined a local accountancy practice. Over the next five years Eirian worked in Carmarthen and Swansea, during which time he studied to become a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), which he successfully completed in 2005.
Having then returned to Carmarthenshire he worked in Ammanford before taking over an accountancy practice in Carmarthen in May 2008, which he developed and expanded over the next fifteen months. In August 2009, Eirian joined L H Phillips & Co. as a partner, where he was able to use his substantial agricultural knowledge to assist their client base. Eirian added to his ACCA qualification in 2010 by gaining Chartered Accountant status (ACA).
His agricultural background and the extensive experience he has gained in accountancy means that Eirian has an in-depth knowledge of a variety of businesses, in particular:
- Farming and related industries
- Construction industry
- Public houses and restaurants
- Retail and wholesale trades
- Trades – electricians, plumbers, carpenters etc.
- Renewable energy
Eirian is a Welsh speaker and strongly believes in providing a personal service to all clients.
Personal
Eirian lives in Llangain with his partner Bet, his two stepsons Tom and Llew and his father-in-law, Myrddin. His interests include rugby, DIY and gardening and he enjoys a brisk walk on Llansteffan beach at the weekends.
