SME Brexit Support Fund

New support for SMEs on exporting matters opens via the existing Customs Grant Scheme in March 2021, allowing up to £2k per business.
New funding of £2,000 per SME is available next month through SME Brexit Support Fund for small and medium businesses, for help with training and advice. This is great news for exporters currently trading with the EU needing support for the new normal, post-transition.
What does it cover?
The grant training will only cover the costs of training relating to aspects of:
- customs declarations
- customs processes
- customs software and systems
- import/export aspects – including VAT, excise, rules of origin
Am I eligible?
This training applies if you:
- complete (or intend to) import or export declarations internally for own goods
- use someone else to complete import or export declarations but require additional capability internally to effectively import or export (such as advice on rules of origin or advice on dealing with a supply chain)
How do I apply?
Via HMRC.
You will apply online but the applications are not open yet. This page will be updated when you can submit an application – it will become a new part of the Customs Grant Scheme -accessed via the UK government website:
