LHP Co-Hosts Angels Invest Wales’ First West Wales Event
LHP co-hosted the Angels Invest Wales’ first West Wales networking event this week (Weds 3 November) with Development Bank of Wales and Scarlets Rugby at Parc y Scarlets, helping to build an investor community in West Wales.
Businesses from the region attended to learn how accessible investing can be and about how to join the Angels Invest Wales platform as well as meet some existing members.
Great talks were had by Sean Fitzpatrick, Ickle Bubba and LHP Managing Director and Tax Expert Matthew Williams. All Blacks legend Sean Fitzpatrick in his opening talk assured us that whether it’s rugby or business, success is all about the people and their commitment to the end goal.
LHP client Ickle Bubba took us on their huge growth journey from start up to today and where they aim to be in 10 years, while Managing Director at LHP Matthew Williams, gave a useful talk to the audience entitled Tax Relief for Investors.
Tax Relief for Investors
The tax talk for investors outlined all of the tax relief opportunities available for potential investments (SEIS or EIS), plus the qualifying conditions, common pitfalls and illustrated examples of what to expect if the value increases, decreases or stays the same. Also a bit on Investors Relief (IR) which is a Capital Gains Tax relief on disposal of qualifying shares in an unlisted company – and what to expect.
