COVID-19 Business Support – Eligibility in Wales

Those businesses in hospitality, tourism and leisure (HTL) impacted by Covid can use the below link to check eligibility for the £120m ERF Business Support Fund – specifically for impacted (50% turnover) businesses between the dates of 13 December 2021 and 14 February 2022.
The fund also applies to events spaces and attractions and HTL supply chains materially impacted by Covid. The impact will be compared with turnover from the previous year in the same months. Eligible businesses can apply for grants of between £2,500 to £25,000, with grants dependent on their size and number of employees.
Welsh Businesses
The window for Welsh Government ERF administered applications with a turnover of more than £85,000 is now open and will remain so until 4pm on 1 February 2022.
Local Authorities across Wales have opened applications for support for those businesses with a turnover of less than £85,000 that are ineligible for Non Domestic Rates (NDR) support. Applications remain open for 2 full weeks.
Local authorities are also administrating a discretionary fund for sole traders, freelancers and taxi drivers and businesses that employ people but do not pay business rates. Last week this was doubled to £1,000.
The Welsh Government has provided in excess of £2.5 billion funding to Welsh businesses since the start of the pandemic. Focused particularly on backing small businesses and Welsh communities, it’s targeted approach has helped protect in excess of 160,000 Welsh jobs which might otherwise have been lost.
