Brilliant Basics Fund – £250k for Welsh Tourism

Brilliant Basics Fund 2022-2023 Local Authority and National Park round

Good news for Welsh Tourism as every bit helps. A new ‘Brilliant Basics Fund’ is now available to key sites in Wales to deliver basic small-scale tourism infrastructure improvements across Wales in order to ensure visitors have a positive, memorable experience throughout their stay. The 2022-23 Brilliant Basics fund will focus investment in key tourist destinations – the reason why this year’s round is only open to Local Authorities and National Park Authorities. The purpose of the fund is to:

  • Invest in small infrastructure projects to benefit communities and visitors in important tourism locations.
  • Develop high quality infrastructure projects that support the wider tourism in destinations giving visitors a memorable experience.
  • Support basic facilities to remain open all year and cater for visitors well into the evening.

Level of funding available

This is a capital fund where the total grant available is £250,000 and there is no minimum grant amount. The full spend can be claimed by no later than 31 March 2023.
